Kim Kardashian West announced Tuesday morning that her third child with husband Kanye West — a daughter — has been born to a surrogate.
West tweeted, “She’s here” and “We’re so in love” to announce the birth publicly.
The child was born Monday at 12:47 a.m., Kardashian West wrote on her website.
The new child’s name has not yet been revealed. The Wests also have a 4-year-old daughter, North, and a 2-year-old son, Saint, whom they say are excited about their baby sister.
“We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care,” Kardashian West wrote on her website.
An April 2017 episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” revealed Kim had experienced complications and fertility problems that prevented her from safely getting pregnant with a third child, so the Wests decided to use a surrogate to carry the child.
Kardashian West had placenta accrete with both of her first two children, and had serious complications during the birth of Saint, TMZ reported.
The surrogate lived in San Diego, and it was unclear whether the baby was born there or in Los Angeles, where the Wests live, TMZ reported.
More than 2,000 Twitter comments on the announcement congratulated the family on its new addition.
