Kim Kardashian Super Bowl Ad Busts Out Online (Video)

By    |   Wednesday, 28 January 2015 08:04 AM EST

Kim Kardashian uses a 30-second Super Bowl ad for T-Mobile's "data stash" program to poke fun at herself – and all her bounty – in a tongue-in-cheek slap at selfies.

It's the first Super Bowl ad for the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" reality show star since her 2011 Sketchers commercial, noted People magazine. In the spot, Kardashian, 34, tells viewers about the importance of saving their data so they can see more, well, of her.

"The ad really incorporated a lot of my personality," Kardashian told People. "We really went over scene by scene and what selfies I thought would really showcase me and what I would do. I ski, I went to tennis camp growing up. So there are some things in the commercial that I don't think people know about me."

Kardashian's T-Mobile commercial is one of a handful of Super Bowl commercials that have been trotted out before Sunday's game between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks in hopes of maximizing their exposure. Advertisers are shelling out a $4.5 million per 30-second ad this year for the game, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

"In all fairness to the current lack of buzz, more advertisers are waiting longer to tease or reveal their spots this year," wrote the Tampa Bay Times Sean Daly, who complained about the apparent lack of creativity in this year's ads. "This reverses a buzz-killing trend: For the past few Super Bowls, we had already seen most of the good ads on YouTube days before kickoff."

As expected, Kardashian's ad created plenty of comments on social media.
