Courtney Love, not Kurt Cobain, wrote the death note found in the Nirvana frontman's wallet after he committed suicide 20 years ago, a Seattle author said this week.
Officials reportedly discovered the handwritten note inside Cobain's wallet when they found the 27-year-old singer's body at his Seattle-area home on
April 8, 1994, CBS News reported. The Medical Examiner's Office determined that he'd died from a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head.

"Do you Kurt Cobain take Courtney Michelle Love to be your lawful shredded wife," he reportedly wrote on a piece of Phoenix Hotel letterhead, referring to his then-wife. "Even when she's a b— with zits and siphoning all yr (sic) money for doping and whoring."
Now, Charles R. Cross, a Cobain grunge expert who even wrote a biography on the singer, claims that the handwriting in the note is actually Love's.
"Early in their relationship, they wrote notes like that to each other constantly,"
Cross told The Associated Press. "The handwriting is absolutely Courtney's."
The note presented a very different view of Love than what was included in Cobain's suicide note. There, he referred to her as a "goddess of a wife who sweats ambition and empathy."
Cobain and Love reportedly had a tumultuous relationship complicated by fame and a dual heroin addiction.
