Larry King Files for Divorce From Seventh Wife

After almost 22 years of marriage, Larry King is calling it quits with wife Shawn King.

The former CNN host, 85, filed divorce papers Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences, according to The Blast. Copies of the legal documents show that the couple had separated on June 6, 2019.

Shawn, 59, is Larry’s seventh wife but this is his eighth marriage. (He married Alene Akins twice.) Larry is Shawn’s fourth husband.

Sources told TMZ they were not surprised by the news and that they had been having marital troubles for several years. Larry had previously filed for divorce in 2010 but he and Shawn later reconciled. 

In a statement released at the time, Larry said that "a lot of new things are happening to us, and we are happy to be together as a family with our children," People noted.

Then in 2016 reports emerged that Shawn was allegedly having an affair. However, the couple later denied the allegations.

"I’ve dealt with rumors a long time," Larry said in an interview with Hallmark Channel's "Home & Family," per Fox News. "[I've] interviewed people involved with rumors. Rumors are what they are — they’re rumors. And I tell you the truth, I don’t pay any attention to them."

The couple have two sons, Chance, 20, and Cannon, 19.
