After taking down Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith in a drum-off, comedian Will Ferrell will take on another challenger: Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich.

Ulrich, 50, agreed to the competition Thursday, two days after Ferrell and Smith told SPIN that he was their next target.

The star of "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" and Smith dueled for charity in a "traditional drum-off" last month on "The Tonight Show," where host Jimmy Fallon called Ulrich's physical appearance "eerily similar" to that of him and Smith.

"Lars gets pissed because he gets mistaken for both me and Chad Smith," Ferrell told SPIN. "He can settle that score now, too."

Ulrich is ready.

"It was a little lonely on the sidelines during the first drum-off, given the somewhat forced nature of the lookalike element between Chad Smith and Will Ferrell, when I'm TRULY the one carrying that dead-ringer gene around!" Ulrich wrote in a statement, according to Spin Magazine. "As for any further drum-offs, I'm sure that with a bit of practice, I could give Chad a run for his money."

"But Will? That's a whole different story," he continues. "He rules the 'bad-ass drummer universe.' I mean, you're talking about a guy who's so next level, actually, so beyond next level, that he may just be completely unreachable! That said, I'm definitely up for the challenge. ... Bring it on!!!"

Shortly after Ulrich's acceptance, Smith responded on Facebook, "Two pieces of advice for Lars: Leave the double bass drums as home and load up on cowbells!"

During the Ferrell-Smith drum challenge, each took turns. While Ferrell showed some percussion acumen, he was no match for a professional drummer. Clearly beaten, Ferrell pulled out a cowbell, which he famously played during a "Saturday Night Live" sketch on the making of the Blue Oyster Cult's "(Don't Fear) The Reaper."

A singer in 1970s apparel appeared and Smith played drums for the classic song.
