Laura Ingraham is writing a book about President Donald Trump and populism that is scheduled for Oct. 10, All Points Books, an imprint at St. Martin's Press, announced Friday.
The popular conservative commentator and editor-in-chief of LifeZette has several books to her credit, including "The Obama Diaries" and "Power to the People." Her new book, "Billionaire at the Barricades: The Populist Revolution," will praise Trump for creating a new populist coalition and publish "unreported details" about his upset over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, The Associated Press reported.
Her syndicated radio program, "The Laura Ingraham Show," is one of the most listened to conservative talk shows in the country. The show is played in 225 markets across the United States, according to her website.
Ingraham is a regular contributor on the Fox News Channel and a substitute host on "The O'Reilly Factor." An attorney by trade, Ingraham once served as a former white-collar defense attorney and Supreme Court law clerk.
According to Politico late last year, Ingraham was considered for White House press secretary in Donald Trump's administration, but reportedly wanted a role involving policymaking.
"It's a big decision, but I'm at the point where, if my country needs me, and if I can do something to actually, you know, advance the Trump agenda, which is stuff I have written about now for 15 years, with trade, immigration, and just renewing America, then I obviously have to seriously consider that," Ingraham told Fox News' Tucker Carlson in December, according to Politico.
She has been critical of the new commander in chief, as well, holding him accountable on Twitter.
Newsweek credited Trump's campaign in 2015 with creating a new wave of populism that crossed party lines.
"In reviving the old populist cause of economic nationalism, Trump has struck a chord among a pinched conservative working-class electorate that knows free trade and globalization are not about to boost their wages, or bring their pensions back," stated Newsweek writer Chris Lehmann.
"He's also tapped into the protectionist outlook of America's older labor movement, which historically supported restrictions on immigration because of its downward pull on wages," Lehmann continued.
