Liam Neeson and singer-songwriter Bono apparently have been working together for years on a script about an Irish showband in the 1970s.
In an interview with The Independent, Neeson opened up about everything from his fear of heights to being a single father of two teenage boys and his belief that America should have stringent gun laws. The aside about Bono snuck in.

“We chat, or with him a lot of the time I just listen. He’s a wonderful man. He’s got an idea for a script which we’ve been working on for the past six years,” Neeson said.
Neeson’s friendship with Bono is well documented.
Goss.ie quoted a Daily Mail interview about when Neeson sought advice from Bono to ward his kids off drugs.
"I remember talking to my pal Bono one time. Two of his kids are older than my boys and I asked Bono what he’d told his lads,” Neeson reportedly said. “And he says, ‘I will give you some advice with regard to drugs that Mick Jagger, who has about 55 kids, gave to me: Don’t be f—ing stupid!'"
Although the news that the two Irish superstars are collaborating on a movie was trending Thursday, Neeson got almost as much attention for his solidly professed views in favor of gun control.
Despite the fact that his movies usually put Neeson in a role that requires much gun brandishing, Neeson was unequivocal about gun control.
“The population of America is roughly 300 million and there are 300 million guns in this country, which is terrifying,” Neeson told The Independent.
But that response may have lost the actor some fans.
