Five years after his wife died suddenly in a skiing accident, Liam Neeson is opening up about how he's coped with her tragic passing.
The 61-year-old
Irish actor sat down with CBS' Anderson Cooper for a lengthy "60 Minutes" interview, which will air this weekend, and talked about how Natasha Richardson's death is still surreal.

"[Her death] was never real. It still kind of isn't," Neeson said. "There's periods now in our New York residence when I hear the door opening, especially the first couple of years . . . anytime I hear that door opening, I still think I'm going to hear her."
Richardson, then 45, died in March 2009 after suffering a severe head injury during a skiing accident in Montreal. She and Neeson had been married since 1994 and have two sons together, Micheál, 18, and Daniel, 17.
Neeson also reflected on the moment he knew she was gone.
"She was on life support . . . I went in to her and I told her I loved her, said 'Sweetie, you're not coming back from this, you've banged your head,'" he recalled. "She and I had made a pact, if any of us got into a vegetative state that we'd pull the plug. That was my immediate thought, 'Okay, these tubes have to go. She's gone.'"
Richardson had opted to be an organ donor and Neeson said he takes solace in the fact that she's still doing good even though she's not with him anymore.
"Donated three of her organs, so she's keeping three people alive at the moment — her heart, her kidneys, and her liver. It's terrific and I think she would be very thrilled and pleased by that," he said.
The full "60 Minutes" interview will air Sunday night at 7 p.m. EST on CBS.
Neeson's latest film, "Non-Stop," hits theaters next week.
