Lindsey Vonn hit a travel bump on her way to the Winter Olympics on Wednesday after her flight from Munich to Seoul was delayed for over six hours due to a paperwork mishap, Bleacher Report noted.

The American skier, who was sharing a plane with other Olympic athletes, including German skier and flagbearer Eric Frenzel, had to sit on the grounded plane for three hours before disembarking and then boarding another plane that was delayed a further 90 minutes.

Vonn killed the time by documenting her ordeal on Twitter.

Fortunately Vonn has some time on her side, with the opening ceremony in PyeongChang scheduled to take place on Friday, Feb. 9 at 6 a.m. ET, according to CNET.

And while she has a few obligatory press conferences to take care of on Friday afternoon, ESPN noted that her first scheduled event, the Super G, takes place on Feb. 17.

There is an air of expectation surrounding Vonn's appearance at the 2018 Winter Olympic.

Aside from being plagued by injury, which forced her out of the 2014 Olympics, she also has the gold medal that she won eight years ago to defend, Bleacher Report said.

Her 2013, 2014 and 2016 seasons were all cut shot due to injury, and her 2006 Torino Olympic experience was tainted after she crashed in a practice run and had to be airlifted off the mountain.

Despite this, Vonn has bounced back and garnered a thick skin and impressive resilience.

"I've been through so much since my dream came true of becoming an Olympian but all of the sacrifice, hard work and adversity have been worth it because it's made me who I am today," she posted about her road to the Olympics via Instagram recently. "I'm so proud to be representing our country one more time. Let's do this Team USA!!"
