Lindsey Vonn said she would not represent President Donald Trump at February's Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, The Hill noted.
The U.S. skier, who has set her eyes on gold for the upcoming games, took a shot at the president during an interview with CNN.
"I want to represent our country well," she said. "I don't think that there are a lot of people currently in our government that do that."
The 33-year-old said that she took the Olympics "very seriously" along with "what walking under our flag means in the opening ceremony," adding that she hoped to represent the people of the U.S., but not Trump.
Vonn made it clear that she was not a fan of the president and drove her point home when she told CNN that she would not accept an invitation to the White House should she win gold.
"Absolutely not," she said. "No. But I have to win to be invited. No, actually I think every U.S. team member is invited, so no. I won't go."
Vonn joins Olympic free skier Gus Kenworthy and figure skaters Ashley Wagner, Nathan Chen and Adam Rippon, who have all previously announced that they would not accept invitations to the White House, USA Today said.
Trump has criticized a number of athletes, including NFL players who took a knee during the national anthem, The Hill noted. Last month he also got into a feud with LaVar Ball who refused to thank the president for assisting in freeing his son after he was arrested with two other UCLA basketball players on shoplifting charges in China.
