Lisa Bonet filed for divorce from Jason Momoa two years after they announced their split.
The actors revealed that they were separating in January 2022, and now Bonet has filed for a dissolution of marriage, according to court documents obtained by People.
Bonet, 56, and Momoa, 44, who were married on Oct. 7, 2017, separated on Oct. 7, 2020, according to Bonet's filing in which she cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce. She has requested joint custody of their two children — Lola, 16, and Nakoa-Wolf, 15 — in the filing and did not seek spousal support for either party.
Bonet is also mother to actor Zoë Kravitz with ex-husband Lenny Kravitz.
In announcing their split in 2022, Bonet and Momoa released a joint statement saying: "We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring.
"And so we share our Family news that we are parting ways in marriage."
Bonet and Momoa said they were sharing the update "not because we think it's newsworthy but so that as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty."
"The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived. We free each other to be who we are learning to become," they continued, adding, "Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life of our children. Teaching our children what's possible. Living the Prayer. May Love Prevail."
Bonet and Momoa first began dating after being introduced in 2005 by friends at a jazz club.
"We just happened to be in the right place at the right time," Momoa previously told James Corden during an appearance on "The Late Late Show," according to the Independent.
"I actually had dreaded my hair for her. I had dreadlocks, she had dreadlocks. I literally turned around and I see her and she goes, 'I'm Lisa.' I turned around to my friend and I [pretended to scream]," he continued, explaining that they ended up sharing a Guinness and grits at Cafe 101 in New York City.
"We sat down, she ordered a Guinness, and that was it," he said. "I beyond love Guinness. We had Guinness and grits, and the rest is history."
