Little Caesars Bacon-Wrapped Pizza Packs on the Pork

Little Caesars announced plans to offer a new bacon-wrapped deep-dish pizza, launching Monday.

The $12 pepperoni pizza features 3.5 feet of bacon wrapped around the crust and sprinkled atop the pizza.

It will be offered for a limited time, taking the place of the Soft Pretzel Crust Pizza.

"Bacon has become the ultimate indulgence," Darren Tristano of research firm Technomic said, according to USA Today.

The pizza has 450 calories and 23 grams of fat per slice, CNN reported.

"Nutrition wise, compared to other pizzas or fast food items in the market, it's really not astronomical — if you're going to indulge, this pizza is definitely worth it," Little Caesars spokesperson Tina Taylor told CNN.

The idea came when a Little Caesars' R&D team member ordered a bacon-wrapped filet while dining out, CEO David Scrivano told USA Today.
