Lolo Jones on '50 Shades': 'God Didn't Create Sex for That Purpose'

By    |   Wednesday, 18 February 2015 02:53 PM EST

Olympian Lolo Jones, who drew attention in 2012 for revealing she is a virgin, slammed “50 Shades of Gray” on Twitter Tuesday.

The Olympic hurdler and bobsledder followed up with another Tweet.

The movie is based on the best-selling book by E.L. James about a college student and a 27-year-old billionaire who likes bondage, discipline, sadism, and masochism. It brought in $81.7 million during its opening weekend.

Jones’ stance is being compared to that of another outspokenly religious athlete, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who was criticized on social media after tweeting that he saw the movie.

Twitter users reacted to Jones’ post.
