Lolo Jones was the first person to get the boot on Season 19 of "Dancing With the Stars" after 72-year-old fashion designer Betsey Johnson edged out the Olympic track, field, and bobsled star on Tuesday night's elimination episode.
Jones, a former track and field standout at Louisiana State University, said even with Johnson's feather boa wardrobe malfunction, she knew her cha-cha was not enough to make it through to the second week of competition.
"I wouldn't have had it any other way," Jones said Tuesday after her elimination. "I know Betsey had a malfunction with the boa thing, and that was a disadvantage for her, and that was steps on my part . . . she deserves to stay."

Jones, whose off-beat cha-cha received a measly 22 points out of 40 on Monday's performance show, shared more of her thoughts about the departure on Facebook.
"I wanted to come away a victor for once," she wrote. "I wanted to do so good performing in public that the haters would stop teasing me. But that is my way of thinking. Not God's. Instead I need to trust God that he would heal my heart. That I would not work so hard for the world to validate and redeem me but know that God already conquered that for me on the cross."
Jones took a lot of flak on social media for appearing to have a bad attitude after she bungled her performance.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has crowned former "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" star Alfonso Ribeiro as the favorite to win it all, with "Back to the Future" star Lea Thompson as his biggest competition.
"DWTS" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
