Luke Perry of "Beverly Hills, 90210" fame suffered a massive stroke at his Los Angeles home on Wednesday and is hospitalized in Los Angeles, TMZ reported.
According to the report, a call was first placed with the fire department about an unnamed person suffering a stroke. Paramedics then arrived at the Sherman Oaks house of the 52-year-old "Riverdale" actor at around 9:40 a.m. to transport him to a nearby hospital.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles City Fire Department confirmed the reports to Entertainment Tonight on Thursday.
"We received a 911 call at 9:39am yesterday," the spokesperson said. "The firefighters and paramedics from our department responded and one ambulance transported to an area hospital."
The star’s rep told Fox news that the actor is under observation in a hospital.
The stroke came the same day Fox announced a "Beverly Hills, 90210" reunion series, though Perry's name was not on the list of returning stars. His former co-star Tori Spelling previously told ET that, while Perry may make several guest appearances, there were certain issues surrounding his full-time commitments to "Riverdale."
Perry shot to stardom as Dylan on "Beverly Hills, 90210," but has also achieved success in other roles, most recently as Archie’s father Fred Andrews in "Riverdale."
