"Home Alone" star Macaulay Culkin has a new Velvet Underground tribute band dubbed The Pizza Underground.

"The band released a demo album in early December, and the track list looks like the ramblings one might find in a pizza-loving Velvet Underground fan’s diary: 'Papa John Says,' 'I’m beginning to Eat the Slice,' 'I’m Waiting for Delivery Man,' 'Cheese Days,' 'Pizza Day,' 'All the Pizza Parties,' 'Pizza Gal,' and 'Take a Bite of the Wild Slice,'" wrote the Los Angeles Times. “The band wears all black and what look like Ray-Ban Wayfarers, and the men sport some serious facial hair.”

Culkin, who at the height of his career was considered the most successful child actor since Shirley Temple, hit the stage at the age of 4 but hit the bigtime with 1990’s blockbuster hit “Home Alone” and the 1992 sequel, “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.”

The Pizza Underground on its website notes that Culkin plays percussion and kazoo while also providing vocals. Anti-folk musicians Phoebe Kreutz plays the glockenspiel, Matt Colbourn sings and plays guitar, Deenah Vollmer sings and plays the pizza box, and Austin Kilham sings and plays the tambourine. A demo was recorded on Nov. 11 at Culkin’s house and was released Dec. 2, according to the group’s website.

The Pizza Underground performed at Comic Arts in Brooklyn last month and at the Sidewalk Café during a Lou Reed tribute show.

Culkin, 33, has kept a low profile in recent years and hasn’t done much work aside from voiceovers on the animated TV series “Robot Chicken” in 2010 and appearing in five episodes of NBC’s “Kings” in 2009.
