Mall of Georgia Flash Mob Wedding Takes Bride by Surprise (Video)

By    |   Friday, 26 December 2014 05:39 PM EST

A bride planning to take photos was surprised at the Mall of Georgia with a flash mob and a wedding, all arranged by her fiance.

Christina, whose last name was not given on the video uploaded to YouTube by Chris Green, thought she was helping out a photographer friend by dressing up in her wedding dress and going to the mall for a photo shoot in Buford, Georgia. Instead, her fiancé, Brian, had laid big plans.

“This is the story of a groom who dared to create something special for his bride,” the beginning of the video says.

They even begin the “fake photo shoot” as Christina’s father, Michael, approaches with the bouquet. When she sees her dad and gives him a kiss, he tells her, “You’re getting married today.”

On the other side of the huge Christmas tree where Christina is learning that it’s actually her wedding day and not a photo shoot, Christina and Brian’s friends and family are pouring into the square, jogging so they get there in time to form an aisle of loved ones for Christina to walk through.

Green’s video shows the couple exchanging their vows, and then the “official” kiss that begins their lives as a married couple.

In the comments, many thought the wedding was a wonderful surprise arranged by Brian for his bride. But some others thought it made the event too rushed and not special.

“Couldn't they choose a better venue? It seems pretty rushed to just have a bunch of people gather at a mall while you drag your beautiful white wedding dress on the dirty shopping mall ground,” one person wrote on the YouTube video.

But others disagreed.

“I think that was the best way to do it. People (especially women) make such a big deal about the actual day of the wedding after claiming they just want to be married to the person they love,” one person wrote. “They get stressed out, have fights, fret over how they look and other such nonsense instead of focusing on the marriage itself. They bypassed all the stress and just did it and it looked wonderful. Congratulations.”
