Two suspects made off with a reported $2 million worth of bling, mostly watches, in a daring afternoon jewelry store robbery in the heart of Manhattan's diamond district on Tuesday.

The jewelry was stolen from Watch Standard Inc. on the eighth floor of 23 W. 47th St., and the father of its owner was pistol whipped by one of two suspects, according to the New York Post. That suspect, disguised as a delivery man, and another serving as his lookout, both escaped, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Witnesses told the Journal that police conducted a floor-by-floor search of the eight-story building in hopes of locating the suspects but came up empty handed.

Store owner Danny Mikhaylov said the suspects burst into the store demanding merchandise.

"It was $2 million in jewelry, mostly watches," said Mikhaylov. "They came in and said, 'Give me all your stuff.'"

The Post said Mikhaylov described one of the man as wearing a trench coat. He fooled them into believing he was a delivery person and he was buzzed through security about 2:45 p.m. Once inside the man pulled out a handgun and held Mikhaylov and three other people at gunpoint.

Mikhaylov said his father, Boris Mikhaylov, 56, walked into the shop not knowing what was happening and the suspect pistol-whipped him.

The suspects rifled through the safe, which was ready open, before escaping, noted the Post.
