Mannings Rapping in DirecTV 'Football on Your Phone' Ad Hilarious (Video)

Peyton and Eli Manning, NFL's quarterback brothers, never take themselves too seriously, as the duo has tried their hand at rapping in their recent commercial for DirecTV's NFL Sunday Ticket in "Football on Your Phone."

Using their home, New Orleans, as a backdrop and dressing like cheesy '80s thugs with outrageous wigs, the Mannings rap about getting "football on your phone" as girls in tight black dresses dance in the background.

And what would Manning brothers commercial be without the patriarch, former NFL star Archie Manning? Archie appears in the video sitting on a throne and wearing a wig. Like the other Manning brother commercials, the 3-minute video is hilarious.

The Manning brothers, who have three Super Bowl wins and most valuable player awards between them, seem to be enjoying the video as they play with a golden football in the middle of the street as a break dancer busts a move.

"The Manning brothers may belong to a great gridiron dynasty, but they've never shied away from the big bucks that advertisers will pay them to make fools of themselves," said Katie Staton, of UPI.com. "Stay tuned for a brief but ridiculous cameo from Archie."

"As might be expected, the Mannings' attempt at rap stardom has already gone viral, spawning one too many GIFs and almost immediately earning the (informal) title of 'greatest commercial fearing athletes' of all time," Huff Post Sports wrote on Tuesday.

"Peyton Manning and his little brother Eli just dropped a joint so hot you'll need to watch it with some sunscreen on. I don't know if this means more DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket subscriptions, but it certainly means fans will be sitting around their computers all day watching this masterpiece," Bleacher Report's Gabe Zaldivar said.

Canadian sports television personality Cabbie Richards summed it up as: "Peyton Manning & Eli Manning rap. So bad, it's good."

Peyton, who starts for the Denver Broncos, and Peyton, the mainstay under center for the New York Giants, are expected to lead their teams into the NFL playoffs again this season. Until then, the "Football On Your Phone" ad will likely keep them on top of the unofficial NFL player advertising race.
