Mark Maltz won the lottery three times in one day in Michigan and earned himself more than $325,000 in prize money.
The 42-year-old tow company employee went on a major winning streak Friday when he stopped at a gas station in Commerce Township and decided to buy a single scratch-off ticket, which won him $10, USA Today reported.
Feeling lucky, he used the cash prize to buy himself a Fast Cash ticket, which was a $15 winner. He then went big, buying a $5 Fast Cash Black Jack ticket and a $10 Jackpot Slots Fast Cash ticket.
He hit for the $325,184 jackpot.
“When I saw I was a winner, I started freaking out. I just kept thinking: 'I can't believe I just won!'” Maltz said, according to the Michigan Lottery.
Maltz claimed his prize on Tuesday but rather than blow it all, he said he intends to invest the money.
“I’m going to sit on this for a little while and decide how to best invest it and make it last me a long time,” he said. “I’ve dreamed about winning and thought: ‘Just let me win big one time.’ It’s hard to believe it really happened.”
Although rare, it is not uncommon for one person to win multiple lotteries in one go.
In Nov. 2017, Kimberly Morris of North Carolina won the lottery twice, CNBC noted.
