Mary-Kate Olsen is rushing to get divorced from husband Pierre Olivier Sarkozy, who is forcing her out of their New York City apartment despite quarantine regulations amid the coronavirus pandemic, according to reports.
The former child star initially filed for divorce on April 17 but was told only emergency cases were being accepted at the time. Now Olsen is requesting an emergency divorce order and asking that their prenuptial agreement be enforced in an effort to protect her property.
Sarkozy allegedly emailed Olsen's attorneys this week, giving her until May 18 to move her belongings out of their apartment, but Olsen cannot meet the deadline due to the coronavirus outbreak, reported TMZ.
The email came as a shock to Olsen, who was unaware that her estranged husband had terminated their lease. She has requested an extension until May 30 but has not received feedback from Sarkozy and his lawyers.
"I am petrified that my husband is trying to deprive me of the home we have lived in and if he is successful, I will not only lose my home but I risk losing my personal property as well," Olsen said in court documents cited by Page Six.
The "Full House" star added: "I am unable to look for another apartment right now, let alone retrieve my separate property belongings and am gravely concerned my husband will dissipate, dispose of and/or secret" all belongings as well as marital property.
Olsen said a divorce petition would automatically trigger a court order that would prevent her husband from disposing of her property.
