Matthew McConaughey congratulated Nick Foles for leading the Eagles to a Super Bowl win with a full-page ad in the Austin American-Statesman on Sunday, SB Nation noted.

The Austin, Texas, actor shares a home state with Foles, and made the grand gesture to honor the Eagles quarterback's Super Bowl accomplishment.

"From one local to another, Congratulations Nick Foles. Just Keep Livin, Matthew McConaughey," the full-page ad read, per ABC News.

The gesture did not go unnoticed by Foles, who took to Twitter to thank McConaughey.

After being a backup for almost an entire year, Foles earned the title of Super Bowl MVP for his sterling Super Bowl LII performance, Sports Illustrated said.

Foles said the important lesson was to not be afraid.

"I think when you look at a struggle in your life, just know that that's just an opportunity for your character to grow," he said, according to ABC News. "That's really just been the message. Simple. If there's something going on in your life and you're struggling, embrace it, cause you're growing."
