An anthrax scare at Rep. Maxine Waters' Los Angeles officers caused an evacuation Tuesday due to a suspicious package found there labeled "Anne Thrax."

The Los Angeles Fire Department's hazardous materials team entered the building and evacuated affected areas of the two-story building, the LAFD reported. Only one person was found to have handled the package, and that person reported no medical complaints. It was later determined the package was not dangerous.

The LAPD Major Crimes Division is investigating.

California Democrat Waters said she has received a number of threats on her life after she encouraged supporters to confront members of the Donald Trump administration in response to its zero-tolerance immigration policy.

“If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd, and you push back on them,” she told a gathering in June.

Trump condemned her statement and referred to Waters as the new “face of the Democrats.”

Waters later referred to her call for action as “peaceful resistance” after being blasted by the president.

"This is about peaceful resistance to the kind of actions that we're experiencing from this president as he holds these children hostage," Waters said. "Trump is the one who is creating the lies, trying to have people believe that I talked about harming people.”
