Mayang Prasetyo, the transgender woman murdered and cooked by her chef husband in Brisbane, Australia, will be repatriated to her home country of Indonesia for burial.

Marcus Volke, 28, met Prasetyo, who was born Febri Andriansyah, on an international cruise ship where they both worked, and the two were married in August 2013, reported the Brisbane Times. Their union was not recognized by the state, however, as Prasetyo was considered male under the law.

Director of Indonesian Citizens' Protection and Law, Tatang Budie Utama Razak, said officials were in contact with Prasetyo's family, saying, "They wish for the remains to come back to be buried at home."

News.com.au reported that Prasetyo sometimes advertised herself as a high-class prostitute, charging up to $500 an hour for her services, and using the money to help support her family back home. The 27-year-old reportedly dreamed of transitioning to "complete womanhood" and becoming a mother one day.

"Better in real life. Pictures are always real. Real deal pre-op functional hot TS. With a great fit and hot body to enjoy," one advertisement read, according to the Daily Mail. Other ads noted that she was "busty" and had a "big banana."

According to her Facebook page, she was also employed by a Melbourne-based transgender cabaret show, Le Femme Garcon.

On Saturday, police responded to reports of strange smells coming from the couple's apartment, and found Volke inside trying to boil parts of Prasetyo's body in chemicals atop the kitchen stove. Other pieces of her body were found in trash bags around the apartment. He fled from the police, and soon took his own life by slitting his throat.

"They were happy. They were always together," said cousin Troy Volke in an interview following the slaying.

"He was happy and he was coming home for Christmas, everything was normal," said Volke's mother, Dorothy Volke. "He'd been on a ship, going from one country to another. They hadn't been in Brisbane for very long, only a few months. They were starting to get settled. I don't know what was going on . . . we hadn't seen him for a year-and-a-half."

The couple had lived in their modern Teneriffe apartment for three months before the killing.
