Mayim Bialik, star of the CBS comedy "The Big Bang Theory," and husband Michael Stone finalized their divorce earlier this month after nearly 10 years of marriage.
Citing irreconcilable differences, Bialik and Stone officially ended their marriage May 1. Bialik, 37, announced the separation back in November on her personal blog, calling the situation a "terribly sad" and "painful" thing.
"After much consideration and soul-searching,
Michael and I have arrived at the decision to divorce due to 'Irreconcilable Differences,'" she wrote. "Divorce is terribly sad, painful, and incomprehensible for children. It is not something we have decided lightly.

"The main priority for us now is to make the transition to two loving homes as smooth and painless as possible. Our sons deserve parents committed to their growth and health and that's what we are focusing on. Our privacy has always been important and is even more so now, and we thank you in advance for respecting it as we negotiate this new terrain. We will be ok."
Bialik and Stone have two young sons together. The most difficult part of the divorce was moving the kids from one home to two, she said.
"We consulted with a child specialist," she told People magazine. "There is a book called 'The Truth About Divorce' and it focuses on a progressive child psychology approach. We used those tools. The general notion is it's appropriate to show children the feelings they might feel in any situation. And it's actually been going very smoothly. My boys have the best dad in the world that they could ever ask for."
Bialik, who holds a doctoral degree in neuroscience from UCLA, rose to fame in the '80s and '90s, most notably as the title character in the sitcom "Blossom."
