Mayim Bialik filed a lawsuit against Hertz Rent-a-Car and another driver last week after the "Big Bang Theory" actress sustained injuries from a car accident on August 15, 2012.
Bialik's white Volvo was struck in a Hollywood intersection by a 2013 Mustang filled with Chilean tourists, reported
TMZ.com.

One source told TMZ that "her finger was almost completely severed. . . It was just hanging there."
Perhaps best known for her childhood role as the funny hat wearing, awkward teen on the 1990s sitcom "Blossom," Bialik corrected TMZ's account of her condition in an interview with
E! News on Friday.
"I did not almost lose my hand," the "Big Bang Theory" star told E! News. "I sustained significant injuries for which I am still recovering and will continue to be recovering."
Bialik claimed that one year after the accident occurred, she still feels pain associated with the traumatic injury, having sustained nerve damage to her right hand and thumb.
"I'm aware of it every day not being one hundred percent," she added. "At least it wasn't my face torn open."
Bialik is suing for unspecified damages that are said to include lost wages, TMZ reported.
According to sources, Bialik presently earns in the area of $60,000 per episode,
Deadline.com reported.
Soon after her accident last August, Bialik wrote on her blog:
"I had a horrible accident. I will be okay. I have all my fingers but a very impaired right hand. It was very bloody and scary but I am ok," she wrote. "I am a deeply religious person who used prayer and deep breathing to keep me going all the way from the accident to the ER to surgery six hours later, no medication until surgery."
