A "McDonald's of the future" will offer all-you-can-eat french fries at its Missouri location opening in July, according to the St. Joseph News-Press.

Owners Chris and Karrie Habiger said the McDonald's in St. Joseph will feature kiosks that will allow patrons to customize their orders along with offering them the all-you-can-eat fries option.

CNBC reported, however, that the all-you-can-eat fries are part of a limited promotion as part of the restaurant's upcoming grand opening.

The New York Post said the promotion will run for at least two months. A small serving of McDonald's fries (2.6 ounces) has 230 calories, with 11 grams of fat and 130 milligrams of salt, noted the Post.

The $1.59 million restaurant will focus more on casual dining, as well as quick service, with couches and arm chairs.

"This unique 6,500-square-foot location will also offer customizable desserts, sandwiches, and burgers, as well as table service," St. Joseph McDonald's told CNBC. "It will have several digital kiosks for customers to order their food, a 'party room' for rent, and modern-looking couches and arm chairs for hanging out."

"Today's customers seek a comfortable and inviting atmosphere," Chris Habiger told the News-Press. "So we're committed to providing a modern look and feel to this restaurant."

According to a posting on the St. Joseph McDonald's Facebook page, the restaurant will also include an interactive play area.

The response to the all-you-can-eat fries on social media was mixed.
