Meghan Markle spent two days undergoing kidnap and rescue training conducted by Britain's Special Air Service to prepare for the role in the royal family as Prince Harry's future bride.
Fiance Prince Harry was with Markle through the training, which was conducted in the Herefordshire, England, countryside by the elite British army unit, the Express reported.
The training was designed to expose Markle to a realistic situation and teach her how to respond and protect herself, and live ammunition was used in the training to show her how real gunfire sounds, the Express reported.
Former Army intelligence officer Gerald Moor said Markle was likely taught to form a relationship with her kidnappers, the Daily Mail reported.
"Meghan will have found the experience physically and psychologically grueling," Moor said.
Other than the queen, every senior royal has had training like Markle's, the Express reported. That includes the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, who went through it after her wedding to Prince William.
It was decided that Markle should have the training before her May wedding to Harry because of heightened security concerns after a package containing white powder was sent to Markle and set off an anthrax scare, Wonderwall reported.
