Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s girlfriend, got the royal thumbs up after a source revealed that the actress and humanitarian finally got the approval of Queen Elizabeth II.
In Us Weekly’s latest issue, a Buckingham Palace insider said the queen is now “fully supportive” of her grandson Prince Harry’s relationship with Markle.
The Prince has finally received the “royal seal” of approval from his grandmother after dating Markle for six months, the Daily Mail noted.
“She’s delighted to see Harry in a loving relationship,” a source said, per Us Weekly.
Despite the Queen’s blessing, Markle has yet to meet the Queen, and that’s not expected to change at least until after the holiday season, the Daily Mail noted.
Being romantically involved with Prince Harry has been a major adjustment for Markle.
A friend of Harry’s said Markle was initially “overwhelmed” by the attention that came from her relationship, occasionally turning to Harry’s communications secretary Jason Knauf and private secretary Ed Lane Fox for advice, Us Weekly reported
“There have been times where Meghan’s been unsure [of protocol], and having a direct line to Harry’s most trusted aides has been a godsend,” the friend said, according to Us Weekly.
They have even coached the “Suits” actress on the do’s and don’ts when it comes to sharing information on her Instagram account, which has 1.4 million followers.
“Being careful not to reveal locations or send the wrong message is something she’s slowly gotten used to,” the friend said.
Despite Markle being new to having her dating life in the public eye, a source says a wedding in the next year or so isn’t farfetched for the actress and the monarch, AOL.com noted.
“I could see them engaged by the spring,” the source said. “He’s head over heels!”
The couple will be spending the Christmas holiday apart, as Harry is spending Christmas in Sandringham and Markle returned to Toronto on Tuesday to be with her family.
Harry and Markle are expected to reunite for the New Year.
