Meghan McCain, TV personality and daughter of Sen. John McCain, will host talk radio show "America Now" for radio syndicator Premiere Networks.
The show, which will discuss business, politics, entertainment, and social issues, will air on more than 100 affiliated stations and iHeartRadio.com beginning July 20.
McCain shared the news on Twitter.
"I can’t wait to engage listeners across the country as we shine a spotlight on the stories and issues that affect us all," McCain said in a news release.
McCain replaces Joe "Pags" Pagliarulo, who has filled the role since August 2014 when its original host, Andy Dean, left.
"Meghan is smart, enthusiastic, and outspoken, and we’re excited to have her join our roster of industry-leading programs reaching diverse audiences across America," Premiere Networks President Julie Talbott said in a release.
McCain gained notoriety with a blog she launched in 2008 during her father’s presidential campaign. Her work includes being a columnist for The Daily Beast, contributor to MSNBC, and host of "Raising McCain" and "TakePart Live" on Pivot.
On Twitter, McCain fans expressed their happiness with the announcement.
