Mel Gibson Emerges From Hollywood Wilderness, Signs With Agent CAA

Actor and director Mel Gibson has reportedly signed with talent management firm CAA – the first time he's been represented by an agency since 2010, when he was famously dropped by WMI for anti-Semitic remarks that went public.

Deadline.com first reported the signing of the director of the WWII epic "Hacksaw Ridge." 

CAA had previously had a working relationship with Gibson, having sold and packaged his current hit, which has earned over $150 million at the box office, and given Gibson best director and picture nominations from the Golden Globes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie won Gibson a "director of the year" nod from the Capri Hollywood award, and movie of the year at the AFI Awards ahead of the Oscars THR reported.

Deadline.com reported that Gibson spent a decade away from directing because of the negative publicity surrounding the anti-Semitic comments he made in the back of a police car after being arrested for drunk driving.
