Winona Ryder has revealed Mel Gibson once asked if she was an "oven-dodger," a disgusting anti-Semitic slur from the actor who has a history of anti-Semitic and misogynistic comments. Gibson, 64, uttered the slur in 1995 and now Ryder is reliving the experience in an interview with the U.K.'s Sunday Times.

"We were at a crowded party with one of my good friends, and Mel Gibson was smoking a cigar," the 48-year-old star told the outlet.

The conversation turned to the Jewish faith when Gibson made the derogatory term that referenced the way Jewish people were incinerated in ovens during the Holocaust.

"You're not an oven-dodger, are you?" he asked Ryder.

During the same party Gibson also allegedly asked one of Ryder's gay friends if he was "gonna get AIDS?" He later apologized for the comments, according to the Sunday Times.

This is not the first time Gibson has made anti-Semitic remarks. In 1996 he was stopped for a DUI in Malibu, California, where he was subsequently recorded making anti-Semitic comments at the police officers.

"The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world!" the Hollywood star spouted at the time, according to the 2006 arrest report.

Gibson later chalked his actions down to being "loaded and angry" at the time of the arrest.

"I was recorded illegally by an unscrupulous police officer who was never prosecuted for that crime," he said in a 2016 interview on Variety's "Playback" podcast. "And then it was made public by him for profit, and by members of – we'll call it the press. So, not fair. I guess as who I am, I'm not allowed to have a nervous breakdown, ever."

But Gibson's excuses just did not hold up. After that infamous incident, he was caught on explosive tapes ranting against his now ex-girflriend Oksana Grigorieva. On tape he screamed profanities at her, uttered slurs about Mexican and Black people, and told her if she got raped by "a pack of [edited, racial slur]" it would be her fault.

Grigorieva accused Gibson of hitting her and he eventually pleaded guilty to a charge of misdemeanor battery. The couple has a daughter together.
