Melissa Rivers is inheriting more than $100 million in cash and property from her mother, iconic comedian Joan Rivers.

According to UsWeekly, Melissa Rivers will receive $75 million in cash from her mother and the comedian's $35 million Upper East Side New York condo. Melissa Rivers' son Cooper will receive his own inheritance.

The New York City medical examiner's office released a statement on Oct. 16 saying that Joan Rivers died from complication due to throat surgery, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"OCME [Office of the Chief Medical Examiner] has completed its investigation. The cause of Ms. Rivers' death is anoxic encephalopathy due to hypoxic arrest during laryngoscopy and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy with propofol sedation for evaluation of voice changes and gastroesophageal reflux disease. The manner of death is therapeutic complication," said Julie Bolcer, the medical examiner spokeswoman.

Melissa Rivers continued to struggle with the loss of her mother and business partner, with whom she shared several television projects. She sent out a message out on Twitter after the medical examiner's report.

One of her most extensive statements about her mother has also come online by way of the website WhoSay.com on Sept. 17.

"As my son Cooper and I mourn the loss of my mother, we want to thank everyone for the beautiful cards and flowers conveying heartfelt messages and condolences, which continue to arrive from around the world and through social media," said Melissa Rivers.

"My mother would have been overwhelmed by the scope and depth of the love that people have expressed for her. It is certainly helping to lift our spirits during this time. We are forever grateful for your kindness and support in continuing to honor my mother’s legacy, and for remembering the joy and laughter that she brought to so many," the statement continued.
