Michael Strahan confirmed Wednesday he's joining "Good Morning America" part-time in addition to his current hosting gig on "Live with Kelly and Michael."
The "Live" co-host isn't defecting from his current gig alongside Kelly Ripa, but will augment the cast of the top-rated "GMA."

Specifically, Strahan will help offset the losses of Sam Champion and Josh Elliott, and appear on early segments before heading to the "Live" studio for his show with Ripa.
Talks have been ongoing for months, according to CNN.
Strahan confirmed the discussions on Wednesday's "Live," but told viewers, "(Live) is what I do. This is me. This is my home, right here.
"I just want everyone to know and [Kelly] to know that no matter what, this is my number one priority, and you [Kelly] are my number one priority, and I would never do anything to jeopardize the quality of what I do here."
Ripa replied: "That is exactly how we rehearsed it backstage."
Strahan, 42, also acknowledged that he was surprised by the news.
"I went and had a meeting and talked about the possibility of doing something there ... and then [Tuesday night] I got out of the Captain America screening and I'm looking at my messages," he said. "Next thing you know I'm on 'Good Morning America.'"
The network could formally announce Strahan's role later this week, sources told CNN.
A NFL Hall of Fame defensive end, the 42-year-old Strahan spent his entire 15-year career with the New York Giants. He also serves as a football analyst on "Fox NFL Sunday." He officially joined "Live" in September 2012.
