Former U.S. first lady Michelle Obama was spotted in the front row of a Beyonce concert Sunday in Paris.
The City of Lights was the scene of a trifecta of celebrations: It was Bastille Day weekend, France won the World Cup, and Beyonce was performing the Paris edition of her “On the Run II” tour along with her husband Jay Z.
Obama was spotted by fans sitting next to Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles Lawson. The former first lady and the pop singer worked together in 2011 during the White House's Let’s Move campaign fighting childhood obesity. The two have been friends since then, CNN reported.
Also accompanying Obama at the concert were her two daughters, Malia, 20, and Sasha, 17, according to TMZ.
While Michelle Obama was in Paris, her husband, former President Barack Obama, was in South Africa preparing a speech on the occasion of the 100th birthday of anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela. He’ll deliver the address, expected to be his most high-profile since leaving office, Tuesday in Johannesburg.
Fans of Michelle Obama could barely contain their excitement on social media after spotting the former first lady and her daughters.
