Heath House: Michelle Williams Sells Town Home Shared With Late Actor

By    |   Tuesday, 30 December 2014 08:04 PM EST

Actress Michelle Williams has reportedly sold the Brooklyn town house she bought with the late Heath Ledger.

The four-story, six-bedroom house sold for $8.8 million, 17 percent above the $7.5 million asking price when the property was listed in September, according to Curbed NY. Williams and Ledger paid $3.6 million for the house in 2005.

Williams moved to Los Angeles with their 9-year-old daughter Matilda to pursue acting roles.

Williams and Ledger split in 2007, and he died of an overdose in 2008.

The home features a a temperature-controlled wine cellar, radiant heat floors, and a landscaped roof deck with a waterfall. The sale makes it one of the most expensive homes in Brooklyn, coming in under the $12 million record for Truman Capote’s mansion in Brooklyn Heights, The New York Daily News said.

“It’s going to be hard, though, to replicate the chic, easygoing style that Williams infused throughout the four-story home,” the real estate blog 6sqft said.

Williams and Ledger were lived in the Boerum Hill neighborhood, and Ledger told The Brooklyn Paper in 2006 that he liked living in the area, where his family was left to have a normal life.

"I like everything [about Brooklyn]," he said. "I adore it. I love my neighbors and the coffee shop down the road.

Twitter users commented about the sale.
