Miley Cyrus Hospitalized, Snaps Open-Wound Selfies of Wrist Surgery

By    |   Monday, 15 December 2014 08:06 AM EST

Miley Cyrus was briefly hospitalized for a wrist operation on Friday, and she documented the occasion with hospital-gown selfies and a few graphic photos of her sliced-open arm.

"This gown is sooooo hipster," she wrote of her "hospy" duds on Instagram.

Cyrus also posted a photo of the wrist incision made by the hospital staff, turning the surgery into a morbid yet playful occasion with a few interesting Photoshop alterations.

In the first picture of her arm innards, she strategically placed a simple emoticon-style smiley face over the center of the incision, just barely sparing her audience the grotesqueries of outpatient surgery. That was followed by a series in which she placed a slice of pizza, her own face, fellow pop star Justin Beiber, singer Wayne Coyne, and even Elvis over her wound.

People magazine followed up with Cyrus' representatives on Saturday, and they said, "She is fine. She had an outpatient procedure on her wrist yesterday."

The magazine reported that the surgery came soon after the pop singer returned from the Art Basel festival in Miami, where she partied with Paris Hilton, Eva Longoria, and, of course, new boyfriend Patrick Schwarzenegger.
