Miley Cyrus has been banned at Kennedy holiday events by Maria Shriver who disapproves of the singer's budding romance with her son Patrick Schwarzenegger, creating a family standoff.
According to Hollywood Life.com, Shriver has put her foot down about Cyrus, 22, and the singer famous for her twerking will not be welcome Kennedy family Christmas functions.
"Maria doesn't want her there and won't budge," according to a source. "She doesn't think it's appropriate to have Miley around the rest of the Kennedy family."
But Schwarzenegger, 21, son of Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger, is pushing back, threatening to boycott family outings if his girlfriend of the moment can't be a part of the gatherings.
"Patrick insists on having her there – or he will not come," according to the source, noted Hollywood Life.com. "They've been talking less and less. Every time they do talk, it ends up in an argument where Patrick is defending Miley."
Cyrus, meanwhile, is defending herself against drug use and denying pregnancy rumors,
according to "Entertainment Tonight."
She took to Instagram to blast a December Life & Style magazine cover with the headline: "Miley's Terror: Pregnant and Forced Into Rehab," noted ET.
It was the second time for Cyrus to be pregnant in the tabloid rumor mill, also courtesy of Life & Style. In April, the singer's representatives denied the rumors to
Us Weekly.
"No bun in the oven on the 'Bangerz Tour,'" noted Us Weekly on April 2. "Although Life & Style latest cover proclaims 'Miley's Nightmare: Pregnant & Scared,' Miley Cyrus' rep tells Us Weekly that the pop star is not, in fact, pregnant."
