Pop singer Miley Cyrus is reflecting on her career and "mistakes."
Cyrus, 32, spoke about her life choices with Pamela Anderson in an Instagram video shared Monday. The topic came about as Cyrus revealed that she wanted to be like Anderson growing up.
"Ever since I was little, it was only Pam when people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grow up," Cyrus said. "I would say you. And the whole thing. The tattoos, the hair, all of it. That's all I wanted to do."
The "Hannah Montana" alum added that Anderson's evolution inspired her.
"I've had so many different pivots and evolutions and — one might say — detours within my path. But it always ends up coming back around to make the next stage of who we are," Cyrus said. "Something that's more potent, something that's more real."
Anderson, 57, agreed.
"Sometimes you need to go do a little research and come back to your path," she said, recalling telling a director once that she wanted to "let everything go" from her past.
"I don't want to think about it anymore, but then [the director] goes, 'No, bring it with you, baby,'" she said.
Ultimately, Anderson realized she needed to bring her baggage with her.
"I'm not ashamed of my life. I don't need to let anything go," she said.
Cyrus shared her sentiment.
"Funnily enough when I look back, all the mistakes, anything I was unsure of or I didn't understand, I am so proud of every moment and now every stage of my life," she said. "I would not go back and change anything."
Anderson stars in "The Last Showgirl," which earned her a Golden Globe nomination. However, Anderson was snubbed in the 2025 Oscar nominations announced Jan. 23.
"Oh, my gosh, it's not something I ever expected. Doing the work is the win," she told Elle after the nominations were announced. "That's what I like to do, and I think we can lose sight of that sometimes in this whole crazy awards season, but it's nice to be recognized, and it's all a bonus."
