Ming Xi burst into tears backstage after taking a tumble on the runway at the Victoria's Secret fashion show in Shanghai recently, and now she gets to be mortified all over again on TV.

Xi’s fall was shown in footage aired on Tuesday during the delayed broadcast of the show on CBS, despite initial reports that the embarrassing episode would not be televised, E! News reported.

The flub happened when Xi tripped over her flowing sheer white ensemble, and she fell to her knees.

The 28-year-old model managed to recover quickly, putting on a brave face as she got back up with a smile and continued to strut down the runway to applause from the audience, E! News noted.

Her fall was duly footnoted at the time in news coverage of the live show.

Most in Tuesday’s audience were oblivious to the fact that Xi broke down backstage after the fall – until the CBS broadcast showed her tears to the world.

Many have slammed CBS for including the footage in the televised show that was already heavily edited.

“Did they have to film her crying? Unnecessary,” said one fan on Twitter.

“THEY DID MING XI SO DIRTY AIRING HER FALL,” another user tweeted.

“Y’ALL COULDVE CUT THAT OUT BUT YALL DECIDED TO KEEP IT. VSFS TRULY FLOPPED AFTER 2012.”

Dozens of other posts shared similar views.

A source told E! News that the fall was not meant to have been televised, adding that Xi was really upset about the fall.

"She got up as gracefully as she could,” the source said.

“She was shaken up after that fall. All the models made her feel better after though. She is OK now."

Xi meanwhile shared a sentimental message on Instagram, thanking her fellow models for their support.

“It was no doubt one of the hardest moments I have ever had to go through in my career, especially since the show was taking place in my hometown, in front of my mother's and my people's eyes,” she said about the fall.

“However, the support I received from everyone yesterday was incredible and I am truly grateful to everyone who was there for me.”

As many of you may already know, I fell during my 5th year walking at the Victoria's Secret show yesterday. It was no doubt one of the hardest moments I have ever had to go through in my career, especially since the show was taking place in my hometown, in front of my mother's and my people's eyes. However, the support I received from everyone yesterday was incredible and I am truly grateful to everyone who was there for me. @ed_razek Thank you for your supportive words and your continuous support throughout these 7 years. @giizeleoliveira Thank you for helping me up after the fall, it was a very selfless and loving act from you. Thank you to all the girls who rushed to comfort me at backstage after what had happened, you are all family to me. Lastly thank you to everyone who sent and left me supportive messages. I will pick myself up from where I fell, and I will keep going in order to repay all the support you all have given me!! ❤️️#vsfashionshow @victoriassecret
