Nathan’s Famous hot dogs will become the first-ever official hot dog of the MLB this year and also will become a supporter of the league’s Play Ball initiative to get youth involved in the sport.

The sponsorship agreement was announced Tuesday, and to mark the occasion, Nathan’s sent its Coney Island-themed mobile unit to Midtown Manhattan and had former Mets All-Star pitcher John Franco welcome fans and host interactive baseball activities, as well as give out hot dogs.

“This is a monumental day in the long history of Nathan’s Famous,” said executive board member and former president Wayne Norbitz, Forbes reported. “Baseball is America’s favorite pastime, and a game doesn’t feel complete without enjoying a hot dog as you cheer on your team.” He added that Nathan’s Famous was proud to become MLB’s official hot dog and to support the Play Ball initiative.

According to Fox Business, fans will eat an estimated 20 million hot dogs at MLB games this year.

Nathan’s already had separate agreements with five major league teams, including the New York Yankees and Mets. The company sold more than 500 million total hot dogs last year in more than 20,000 U.S. supermarkets, club stores, and restaurants.

This is the first time in MLB’s 141-year history that it will have an official hot dog, although the league does have pizza and taco sponsorships.

Nathan’s Famous has been in business since 1916.

Twitter fans hoped Nathan’s Famous fries would be part of the package, and wondered if they’d be able to get a Nathan’s Famous dog in any MLB ballpark.
