Nancy Sinatra scoffed at the idea that Ronan Farrow is the son of her father, Frank Sinatra, and Mia Farrow, a rumor that has been persistent for years.
Speaking in a rare
interview on "CBS Sunday Morning," Sinatra said the rumor affected her own children because people asked them about it. She also emphatically denied that it was true.
“We all knew it was nonsense,” she said. “I was kind of cranky with Mia for even saying, ‘Possibly.’ I think the word she used when somebody said ‘Is that Frank’s son?’ is possibly. She knew better, she really did. She was making a joke and it was taken very seriously. And it was just silly. Stupid.”
Mia Farrow and Frank Sinatra were married for a short time, but Ronan Farrow was born while Mia Farrow was married to Woody Allen.
But for years, especially since Ronan Farrow looks a little like Frank Sinatra, many believed an affair may have occurred.
Tina Sinatra, another of Frank Sinatra’s daughters, told Showbiz411 that it was impossible for Ronan Farrow to be her father’s son because Frank Sinatra had a vasectomy. “Couldn’t be,” Tina told Showbiz’s Roger Friedman when they met to discuss an upcoming HBO documentary about Frank Sinatra’s life. “Frank had a vasectomy before that. I don’t know whose son Ronan is.”
Tina Sinatra also shot down the idea that Ronan Farrow looks like her father, telling Showbiz he looks just like one of Mia Farrow’s brothers.
