Two Navy SEALs, Brett Allen Marihugh and Seth Lewis, died after an accident Friday at a combat swimming training facility pool in Virginia.
The SEALs were found unresponsive at the bottom of the pool at
Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, WAVY-TV reported.
“Both of these fierce warriors were admired and highly respected among everyone who knew them,” Capt. Pete Vasely, Commander, Naval Special Warfare Group TWO, told the local station. “We will continue to investigate what happened. We owe it to the families and our teammates.”
Officials said the two were using the pool on their own time, according to the station.

Both men served in the U.S. Marine Corps before enlisting in the Navy in 2006.
The facility has been shut down
pending a review, according to the Detroit Free-Press.
