New England Blizzard: No Rest for Weary as Another Storm Bears Down

By    |   Friday, 13 February 2015 06:31 PM EST

Blizzard conditions are heading to New England and Boston again as Winter Storm Neptune is expected dump more snow over Valentine’s Day weekend.

“I can’t believe that I have to report this, but it looks like we’re going to get another blizzard in Boston and for a lot of coastal New England this weekend,” said The Weather Channel’s Ari Sarsilari.

On Friday, the storm already was dropping snow in Michigan and Northern Indiana.

“Winter Storm Neptune's impact will be magnified by a large field of strong winds, even in areas outside the heaviest snow, and a sharp drop in temperatures that will lead to dangerously low wind chills in the wake of the storm,” TWC said.

Weathermen all over the area seemed reluctant, like Sarsilari, to deliver the news. On CBS Boston, Terry Eliasen said, "Just once this winter I wish I could write a blog saying, 'BIG CHANGES, storm headed out to sea!!'"

Unfortunately, though, Eliasen was only able to predict blizzard conditions, a foot or more of snow, power loss, damaging winds, and “more pain and misery in New England.”

He did update the story to say models were predicting a slight shift that still would bring blizzard-like conditions, but might lower snow totals a bit.

At this point, Boston will take what it can get. Or not get.
