A woman was arrested when she arrived naked at the Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans and then refused to leave the facility amid the coronavirus lockdown, according to a report.

Most people have been ordered to stay at home and those who are traveling are layering up with gloves and face masks. However, Mariel Vergara was not afraid to casually wander the airport completely nude, according to NOLA.com.

Authorities were alerted to the scene and when they arrived, the 27-year-old from Pueblo, Colorado, was at the Spirit Airlines counter. She had already put on a dress but was still in violation of public decency laws because she was reportedly not wearing underwear and the dress was too short to cover her up.

Airline officials refused to let Vergara fly dressed as she was and asked her to leave the airport but she refused, NOLA.com reported. She was arrested on charges of obscenity, resisting arrest, battery of a police officer, simple battery, and remaining in a place after being forbidden.

A stay-at-home order for the entire state of Louisiana was issued last month by Gov. John Bel Edwards but airlines remain in operation, Fox News noted. Airports have ramped up efforts to combat the spread of the coronavirus by increasing cleaning and sanitization efforts.
