"Walking Dead" actor Norman Reedus was bitten in the chest by a woman at a weekend fan convention in New Jersey, but he didn't press charges because it was "only a nibble."
Darryl Dixon, his character on the hit AMC show, always seems to avoid getting bitten by zombies, but as Reedus stood next to fellow actor Michael Rooker for a photo-op the female fan accomplished what the show's undead have been unable to do, said Adam Carlson of
Unwalking Dead.com.
He said the woman approached the two actors for a photo and told Reedus a story about how she likes to pretend that she's married to him.
"Then, after the photo was taken, she was apparently so overcome with emotion that she turned and bit him, prompting Rooker to exclaim 'What the f*** was that?'" said
Teresa Jusino of the website The Mary Sue.
"After a moment, security ran in and restrained the woman, explaining that she was to be removed for biting the 'The Walking Dead' star and saying, 'Um….ma'am. You just bit Norman Reedus,'" said Carlson.
TMZ said the bite didn't break the skin and the actor decided not to pursue legal action. The celebrity website said police called the bite "only a nibble."
Carlson said a woman posted a photo on
Instagram claiming responsibility for the bite and expressing remorse for the incident.
"Finally meet the love of my life, and I get banned from the rest of the CON and lose two more $100 photo ops with him because I lost my mind," said the woman. "Got so excited standing beside him … & just turned my head and bit him! I don't know what came over me. It wasn't my intention to hurt him. I'm sorry Norman."
