MTV Schedules 'True Life: I'm Occupying Wall Street'

The Occupy Wall Street activists have had their share of Hollywood boosters including filmmaker Michael Moore, actress Susan Sarandon, and rapper Kanye West. But now protestors appear to have a powerful media ally in the form of cable giant MTV.

Not only did MTV recently issue a casting call to the anti-capitalist campers for its upcoming season of “The Real World,” the network has announced that on Nov. 5, it will air a "True Life" special devoted to the movement. The segment of the documentary-style series will appropriately be titled “I’m Occupying Wall Street.”

“The special episode will take you to the front lines as MTV cameras follow three young people who get swept up in the political movement that has quickly grown into a global phenomenon,” the network’s website touts.

The MTV special will feature Bryan, who is “one of the leaders of the Occupy sanitation team.”

Bryan motivates his fellow protesters to clean up the park before the city's mandatory deadline, which he believes is just an excuse to evict the protesters.

"As worried as I was," Brian shares, "it was amazing to see that as it really came down to the wire, people were willing to just do whatever it took to get the park clean."

“The problem for young protesters like Bryan is who do they turn to?” MTV’s website asks.

“Their parents, the government? Many believe it no longer matters who's in charge in Washington because none of those big money politicians has any answers,” the site explains.

“That might be why this group sees Occupy as a kind of war their generation must wage, one that might not end soon, but which they support because it allows them to speak out against corporate America and voice the concerns they have about not being able to find work,” the website indicates.
