A photo posted by the Gainesville (Florida) Police Department of three of its officers heading out to respond to those in need after Hurricane Irma is going viral thanks to the women who can't resist these men in uniform.
The Facebook post featuring officers Nordman, Hamill, and Rengering on Sunday before their shift has garnered 430,000 reactions, been shared nearly 242,000 times, and has more than 156,000 comments, including some that “made our chief blush,” an update to the post said.
Commenters were wild about the hunky police officers.
“So, looks like my next vacation will be spent in Gainesville rolling through stop signs and driving with a tail light out every evening until I’ve been pulled over by the entire night shift,” L.J. Rhodes wrote.
“The hunkapotumus is a rare, elusive, and mythical creature,” Jaime Lee Daniels posted. “Here we are lucky to see 3 huddled together in the wake of Hurricane Irma. I’m a well trained hunkapotumus handler. Send them my way and they will be well taken care of.”
The post update revealed officers Nordman and Hamill are married but that Officer Rengering (on the right "with the amazing hair") is single.
The department also said it was looking into a calendar in the near future, with proceeds going to Irma relief.
"On another note, Officer Rengering is being placed into Cougar Prey Protective Care, similar to the witness protection program for his safety," the post continued. "Please do not call 9-1-1 and request this group respond to your 'incident.'"
Sarasota police posted its own photo of handsome officers in the comments, saying it was providing “backup” for Gainesville.
“Good lord it’s a hottie police dept battle now,” Nicole Morrill Stephens posted.
Amber Yerkes wrote, “Looks like I’m moving to Florida.”
The plethora of flirty and complimentary comments brought a lightheartedness to what has been a very serious time of evacuations, power outages, and lots of water after Irma’s passage through the sunshine state.
“These comments are cracking me up. Need some good laughter after being evacuated for almost a week,” one person commented.
