In an Ohio teen rape and kidnap case, one suspect was arrested in Texas on Thursday while two others remained on the run, according to the Bowling Green Sentinel-Tribune.

David Ramos Contreras, 28, was taken into custody at a residence in Lubbock, Texas, after a nationwide manhunt for allegedly kidnapping and raping two girls, ages 13 and 14, at a Bowling Green, Ohio, hotel in June, the newspaper said.

Contreras, who was deported from the United States in 2017, is expected to be extradited back to Ohio, the Sentinel reported. WTOL-TV reported that Contreras's country of origin is Mexico.

"The diligent and dedicated work of our fugitive task force, along with the U.S. Marshals in Lubbock, and our local partners enabled this arrest to happen quickly and safely," U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio Pete Elliott said, according to the newspaper.

"We know the hard work will continue until the other two suspects are apprehended. Our thoughts are with the victims of these heinous crimes," Elliott added.

Authorities were notified June 28 about four men kidnapping and assaulting the teenagers at the hotel, where they were staying with their mother, the Sentinel reported. Simon Juan, 24, of Guatemala, was arrested the next day for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and transported to jail on a $50,000 bond, the newspaper said.

According to the Toledo Blade, police continued to search for two other suspects: Juan Garcia Rios Adiel, 19, who possessed a fraudulent permanent resident identification card out of Fellsmere, Florida, and Arnulfo Ramos, whose age and address have not been reported.

Authorities told WTOL-TV that they did not believe that Adiel and Ramos were U.S. residents. The television station wrote that the suspects were working in the area at the time of the incident – two as dry wallers and one worked at Greenline Foods in Wood County.

The men were staying at the same hotel as the mother and teenagers at the time of the incident, authorities told WTOL-TV.
