An Oregon mountain lion was supposedly guided from a home by telepathy and other means after taking a nap behind the living room couch, the resident of the house posted on Facebook this month, according to The Oregonian.

Lauren Taylor wrote that she used telepathy, "frequency and attunement," and "feline-speak eye blinking" to coax the animal out of her home after it entered a front door in Ashland, Oregon, the newspaper wrote.

The mountain lion drank from a fountain/pond in the backyard of the residence before entering the home, the Oregonian said. Taylor wrote that the mountain lion appeared agitated after a housemate yelled at it, taking up a hiding place behind the couch after it could not leave through a closed front door.

Taylor said when she left the area and returned, the animal had fallen asleep, leading her to take pictures of the animal in her living space.

"She immediately tried to leave through a closed window, became frightened when someone screamed, and hid behind the sofa," Taylor wrote on Facebook on July 8.

"… I am hopeful and confident this cougar will not be back. She was urged telepathically to go straight back through the open field into the hills and never come into town again for her own safety. And she did go straight through the open field, away from homes when she left," Taylor continued.

Taylor wrote that the animal left because she was able to raise "my frequency, gazed lovingly into her eyes, and communicated using feline-speak eye blinking to calm her. It was amazing to realize that this worked. I gazed lovingly then blinked hard and then she did it back."

Taylor wrote that she believed the mountain lion felt safe at that time.

"My housemate came out and the lion became very alert to a new person," Taylor wrote. "I explained about the energy and the blinking and she dropped into her heart, blinked, and the lion blinked back at her, relaxed, and curled up to sleep some more.

"It was just a couple hours to dawn and we needed to prompt her to leave without alarming her so much that she panicked. I sent telepathic pictures of the routes out of the house via open doors and the route out the backyard, across the creek, through an open field, and back up into the hills," Taylor continued.

In confronting mountain lions, the National Parks Service suggests that one should never run from one but make eye contact and do not bend over because the animal does not recognize standing humans as prey.

The service said human should look to appear large, raising your arms slowly, opening a jacket and speaking firmly in a loud voice.
